An AI agent inside the Asterisk you run
Dograh is the self-hostable voice agent platform with an open-source workflow builder. Connect the Asterisk or FreePBX system you already run through Asterisk ARI, on Dograh Cloud or self-hosted, and send only the calls you choose to the agent.
Dialplan in, agent on, extension rings
Create the ARI user
Asterisk ARIAsterisk's interface for outside apps
Create an ARI user and turn on the HTTP server in Asterisk, then save those values in Dograh.
→ Asterisk 22 or later, or 20 LTS with chan_websocket
Send chosen calls to Stasis
Stasis appthe name your dialplan hands calls to
Dograh generates the app name. Add it to the dialplan for calls the agent should answer, and register those extensions.
→ Every other extension keeps working as before
Ring your own extensions
Transfer Callthe agent dials a person
The agent can ring a PJSIP extension or a queue. The caller hears hold music and joins once someone answers.
→ Test a transfer nobody picks up
Your PBX keeps its trunks and extensions
The PBX keeps every line it already terminates
Both connect to Asterisk through the same ARI steps
A Local/{number}@from-internal dial string keeps your existing trunk rules
Check these on one test extension
- WebSocket modules loadedchan_websocket and res_websocket_client are present, as they are on Asterisk 22 and later.
- Stasis line in the dialplanOnly the extensions meant for the agent enter the app name you were given.
- Transfer tested with no answerIf nobody picks up, the agent hears the transfer failed and stays with the caller.
- Keypad steps left in the PBXMenu presses and typed card numbers stay in Asterisk, since the agent listens to speech.
- Called from a real handsetPhone calls reach the agent as 8 kHz audio, so test away from the browser.
Add the agent, leave the phone system alone
Extensions stay put
Staff phones, queues and ring groups keep working while one call type moves to the agent.
Cloud or your own servers
Run the agent on Dograh Cloud, or self-host it beside the PBX.
Flows in a visual workflow builder
Prompts and handovers sit as connected nodes instead of lines of dialplan text.
Every call traced and scored
Each call keeps a full trace and QA scores for every step.
Trunks, PRI lines and carriers, explained
Which Asterisk versions work?+×
Asterisk 22 or later, or Asterisk 20 LTS with the chan_websocket and res_websocket_client modules added.
Does it work with FreePBX?+×
Yes. FreePBX runs Asterisk underneath, so it uses the same ARI setup, and calls the agent places can follow your FreePBX outbound routes.
Do I need to self-host to use Asterisk ARI?+×
No. Asterisk ARI connects to Dograh Cloud or to a self-hosted install the same way.
Can the agent transfer callers back to my staff?+×
Yes. Transfer Call on Asterisk ARI rings a PJSIP extension or a queue first, and connects the caller only once someone answers.
Can I keep my PRI line?+×
Yes. If the PRI ends on Asterisk, the PBX keeps it and hands chosen calls to the agent through ARI.
Is there a platform fee?+×
Self-hosted Dograh has no per-minute platform fee, but servers, model keys and phone minutes still cost money. Dograh Cloud charges a 1¢-a-minute platform fee.
Send one extension to the agent first.
Self-host in one command, or start on Dograh Cloud.
