Your Twilio numbers, an open-source agent on top
Dograh is the self-hostable voice agent platform with an open-source workflow builder. Connect the Twilio account you already pay and point a number at your agent. Twilio keeps billing the minutes, and your own keys run the models.
Account in, number pointed, call live
Link the account you run
Account SIDTwilio's ID for your account
Add your Account SID and Auth Token once. Your numbers stay on your Twilio account, and so does the bill for them.
→ Keep the Auth Token out of shared docs
Choose which agent answers
Inbound workflowthe agent tied to a number
Saving an inbound workflow on a number sends its calls to that agent straight away. Several numbers can share one agent.
→ Test from a real mobile, not a browser
Audio flows over Media Streams
Media StreamsTwilio sending live call audio
Each call streams two-way phone audio to the agent, so the speech and voice providers you picked do the work.
→ Leave Twilio recording off, calls are recorded already
Twilio carries the call, you choose the models
Twilio bills these on your account at its own rates
Open-weight models on your own servers work here too
The caller joins staff only once someone answers
Try these on a spare number first
- Spare number connectedA test number routes to the agent before any public line moves.
- Transfer tried both waysA staff phone answers once and stays silent once, and the agent handles both.
- Recording kept in one placeTwilio recording stays off unless you want a second copy on Twilio.
- Short calls pricedTwilio rounds each call leg up to a full minute, so brief calls cost more per second.
- One trace readA test call's trace shows the speech, model and voice time for each turn.
What owning the Twilio account gives you
Numbers never move
Callers keep dialling the same lines, and nothing gets ported to go live.
Twilio bills you directly
Minutes and streaming land on your own Twilio invoice at Twilio's list rates.
Room to change carriers
Add Telnyx, Plivo or a SIP trunk as another telephony configuration and leave the agent untouched.
Several accounts, one install
Each Twilio account becomes its own telephony configuration with its own numbers and credentials.

Every Twilio line item, explained
Can I use the Twilio numbers I already have?+×
Yes. Add the Account SID and Auth Token, pick a number and set its inbound workflow. Twilio keeps billing that number to you.
Does the agent use Twilio ConversationRelay?+×
No. Calls run over Media Streams, so you choose the speech-to-text and voice providers and pay them yourself.
Can the agent make outbound calls from my Twilio numbers?+×
Yes. Campaigns and API-triggered calls ring out through your Twilio account, and each can name the caller ID it shows.
Can the agent transfer callers to my staff?+×
Yes. Transfer Call rings the destination first and connects the caller only once someone answers. On Twilio, a short spoken introduction can play first.
Is there a platform fee on top of Twilio?+×
Self-hosted Dograh has no per-minute platform fee, but servers, model keys and phone minutes still cost money. Dograh Cloud charges a 1¢-a-minute platform fee.
Do I need Twilio's call recording?+×
No. Each call's recording and transcript are kept for you already, so Twilio's recording fee only appears if you switch it on there.
Keep your Twilio account. Add the agent.
