Leave Vapi one phone number at a time
Dograh is the self-hostable voice agent platform with an open-source workflow builder. Rebuild each Vapi assistant as a visual flow, keep your model keys and voices, and move a number only after its test call passes.
Export, rebuild, then switch
Read your setup out of Vapi
Vapi APIthere is no export button
Four list calls save your assistants, squads, tools and phone numbers as JSON files, your spec for the rebuild.
→ Note which assistant answers each number
Draw it as a visual flow
Agent nodesone step of the call per node
Shared rules go in the Global Prompt. Each squad member or old Workflow node becomes an Agent node.
→ Or let Claude Code build it through Dograh's MCP server
Move one number at a time
Inbound workflowthe save is the cutover
Copy the number's old Voice URL in Twilio, then save the Dograh agent as its inbound workflow.
→ Roll back by pasting the old URL into Twilio
What carries over, and what you redo
Numbers you own on Twilio or Telnyx move across
Call transfer to a person works on Twilio today
Free Vapi numbers cannot be ported out. Live events move to the post-call webhook.
Check these before each number moves
- Old Voice URL savedWritten down next to its number, so you can roll back in one paste.
- Agent publishedThe phone test ran the published version, not a draft.
- Tools testedSuccess, timeout and auth failure each behave sensibly.
- Webhook checkedA real payload parsed, and a repeat delivery created no duplicate.
- Transfer testedAnswered and unanswered transfers both end well on a real phone call.
- Vapi kept activeUntil every number has moved and a week of calls look right.
A move you can undo at every step
Your flow stays visible
Calls are built as nodes and pathways, so the rebuild can look like the flow you drew.
Same models, same voices
Bring your provider keys. ElevenLabs and Cartesia voice IDs move across unchanged.
Rollback in one paste
The saved Voice URL points a number straight back at Vapi.
No platform fee self-hosted
The open-source platform charges no per-minute fee. Servers, models and phone lines still cost money.

Learn how it works, step by step
Can I import my Vapi assistant into Dograh directly?+×
No. Export it through Vapi's API, then rebuild it in Dograh's builder, or have Claude Code build it through Dograh's MCP server.
How do I move a Twilio number from Vapi to Dograh?+×
Copy its Voice URL in the Twilio console, publish your Dograh agent, then save it as the number's inbound workflow. The save switches the number.
Can I keep my Vapi phone numbers?+×
Numbers you own on Twilio or Telnyx move across. Free Vapi numbers cannot be ported, so buy a replacement and keep the old one answering during the change.
Do I have to move every number at once?+×
No. Move one number at a time, starting with the quietest. Keep Vapi active until every number has moved and a week of calls look right.
Does call transfer still work after the move?+×
Yes. Dograh's Transfer Call tool hands the caller to a phone number or SIP address. Call transfer to a person works on Twilio today.
Move your quietest number first.
Self-host in one command, or start on Dograh Cloud.
